Tomato seedlings were planted in the holes relatively late in the season (May 5, 2003).
Three differently colored plastic mulches (black, green, and red) and a control (no mulch) treatment were randomly installed in each of the high tunnels.
Stacked tomato plants with various sensor for monitoring of air temperature and humidity (inside an aspirated box), soil temperatures in each bed, light intensity, and soil moisture.
Tensiometer used to measure soil water tension. Based on the reading of the tensiometer, it was decided when to irrigate the crop using the drip irrigation system.
